Ingredients
250g green beans
1 small onion
80ml white vinegar
80ml white sugar
80ml water
5ml mild curry powder
5ml turmeric
2.5ml salt
10ml cornflour
Method
1. Trim ends off of the green beans and slice into small pieces.
2. Dice onion into small pieces.
3. Fry onion in a bit of oil until soft.
4. Add green beans to the onion and fry over medium heat for around 5 minutes. The green beans must still be al dente.
5. In a saucepan add the vinegar, sugar, water, salt, turmeric and curry powder.
6. Simmer over medium heat until the sauce thickens.
7. Add the green beans to the saucepan and simmer for 1 minute.
8. Turn off the heat and and place the lid on.
9. Let the beans stay in the pot until they cooled off.
10. Store in a pickle jar and place in the fridge.
