Ingredients

375ml flour
5ml baking powder
2.5ml baking soda
125ml sugar
Pinch of salt
80ml vegetable oil
7ml white vinegar
10ml vanilla essence
250ml water

Peanut Butter and Chocolate Frosting

375ml icing sugar
30ml cocoa powder
15ml peanut butter
5ml vanilla essence
5ml butter, melted
45ml water (adjust if needed)

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C and line a cake tin with baking paper.
2. In a bowl combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
3. Add the sugar and salt.
4. Add the water, vinegar, vanilla, essence and oil and whisk until smooth.
5. Bake at 180C for 20 – 25 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
6. Remove from the oven and let in cool off in the cake tin for about 10 minutes.
7. Turn the cake out on a cooling rack.
8. For the icing: Combine all the ingredients and mix until smooth. Adjust the consistency with water if needed.
9. Once the cake has completely cooled, spread on the icing and enjoy.
